I'm tempted to say, "We Won," but that's not quite correct...

...I firmly believe that tonight, after years of painful division, America Finally Won.

J, I could not agree more.

This is a great and wonderful moment in our nation's history. I wish President-elect Obama great success.

Although I supported and voted for John McCain, I could not be more personally pleased and excited about Barack Obama's election.

J, you absolutely nailed what this election means to America.

I am exhausted from working as precinct inspector, which was one of the most precious experiences of my life. I couldn't take sitting in front of the TV all day...wondering.

At 8:00, one of the poll workers took out his radio. I asked him, "Who won." He said, "Obama." I said, "Really?" He grinned, "Yeah, McCon's giving his concession speech right now."

I was jumping up and down like a little kid. When I came home and watched the taped speeches, my husband said, "I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and it's all going to be a bad dream."

I don't care what anyone says, Biden is going to make an outstanding vice-president. He's an up-front guy.

Well, Wizard, you are being your usual gracious self. Thank you for your words. We now need this nation unified and put the Bushit Administration's prevarication and crookedness behind us as quickly as possible.

I don't envy Obama and Biden their clean up job.

I don't envy Obama and Biden, either. I look up to them. And I agree that Biden will be an incredible vice president. He would make a great PRESIDENT, let alone VP. And I hope that Obama will be one of the great presidents of our time. He has that opportunity.

So, Stella, McCain conceded at 8:00 where you are? I guess I never processed where your region of the country is? Where you at?? ;) We are here in Ohio, where McCain conceded at 11:00...and where, in what can only be seen as some sort of cosmic blessing, our state voted for a Democratic presidential candidate for the first time in 12 years....that's the power of Obama.

Wizard, I am so glad that you are still gracious and can still see the positive to everything, even if it was not your preference.

Yes, J, the news was announced at 8:00 PST. I served as a Poll Inspector for the election (partially so I wouldn't have to think about the electoral votes).

The polls closed at 8:00 and one of the other inspectors (we had four precincts in our area) was listening to his radio. I said, "What are the results?" He said, "It's over. McCain is giving his concession speech right now." I couldn't believe my ears, and asked "Obama won?" He said, "Yes."

I was jumping up and down like a little kid. I'm in Los Angeles, so there was no real doubt that Obama would win here. I understand California pushed him to victory with our electoral votes, thanks to Ohio.

Yes, Ohio, was key. If Ohio had backed McCain, I'm not sure Obama would have won. I was overjoyed to hear that Dennis Kucinich is back in the House. Is he your rep?

J, we're in a new world. Rahm Emanuel will be Chief of Staff (excellent choice). The world's negativity towards America is changing. Even a writer of a Pravda article penned, "Welcome back, friends."

I hope all goes well and that we can work together. As long as there are people like Wizard in the world, I think we're in for positive change.

My best, as always, to you and K.

Off topic J, but I hope this small note brings K cheer.

Did you hear Obama may offer the Secretary of State position to Hillary Clinton?

Off-topic again, but I think K will love this article: Thin is the New Miserable.

Happy (belated) New Year K&J. I hope you are both doing well.
